Very Recent Covers Spotlight

Having purchased a few comics this past week, and liking all the covers, I thought I'd share.

Angel & Faith: Season 10 # 21 by Scott Fischer (@Scott_M_Fischer):

Gorgeous. Best cover I saw out of the Dec. 2, 2015, releases. This really caught my eye on the shelf. I had lapsed reading Season 10, but this apparently kicks off the last arc, so it turned out as a good time to check up on it.

New Series Covers Expected This Week

Couple of first issue covers expected to come out this week by Trevor Hutchinson and Richard Delgado.

Returning Series Covers Expected This Week

Two series are expected to return from breaks with covers by Stan Sakai and Jason Howard this week. Four months between issues for Trees, but the regular Usagi Yojimbo series has been on hiatus since early 2012. Will be hard for me to resist picking these up.

Not sure how I feel about covering up any Stan Sakai cover art, even just empty space, but this design looks good. And high praise for continuing the numbering where it left off.

Convergence Mini-Series: Regular vs Variant Covers

I haven't been reading any of these Convergence stories by DC Comics so far, but I noticed the covers. When I first saw previews of the variants for the first month, designed by Chip Kidd (@chipkidd), I figured the colored over portion would have something else that would be revealed when the comics were released. So when I saw them on the stands as previewed, I was disappointed. I did not think people would prefer the variants over the regular ones. But people do seem to like them from what I've read in spots. Thought I'd throw up a few for comparison. Chose a few that I'd have to think twice over which one to get.

Two Redhead Covers Expected This Week

Covers by Phil Noto and Elsa Charretier featuring redheads are expected this week. Redheads are a small percentage of the population. But a super-spy and a time traveler? Rarer than that, for sure.
