September Cover Previews

I only took a quick look at September's covers when they came out, and I didn't make up this posting right away. As it was, only one image jumped out at me. Maybe if I find some others I like later, I will add them.

Ghost Rider # 3 by Mark Texeira:


Of course, this artist worked on Ghost Rider years ago. I can still recognize his style with possibly some new techniques added. Or maybe those come from the colorist.

Recent Print Ads I Like

This one is from the June, 2006, issue of Computer Gaming World (# 263):

This design is cool for ads, but I think it blocks out too much space normally used for cover art on the comics themselves.

This next pair is from Wired 14.06:

Even though I don't drink much soda, no coffee and have little desire to eat through my teeth and stomach lining with this product, I still think it is a cool ad and product design, so maybe I'll cave and try it at some point because I do sometimes like coffee flavoring.

And finally, from the May 26-28, 2006, USA Weekend:

According to the facing story, Danica Patrick runs 5+ miles a day except race days. Do they still need someone to play Wonder Woman in the movie version? Or just forget that and do a comic book on this gal as she is. She'd still need some super powers, or would she?

August Cover Previews

I like Zatanna's jackets, but at the same time this outfit seems a little skimpy for off stage activities.

X-Men # 190 by Chris Bachalo:

Intriguing pairing of Iceman and Mystique. Plus it is unusual to put the image over the title.

Astonishing X-Men # 16 by John Cassaday:

Looks like Kitty will come through again in this issue.
